The Boston Women's Lacrosse Association is a post-collegiate club lacrosse association based in the eastern Massachusetts area. There are various playing opportunities, from indoor leagues and pick-up games in the winter, outdoor weeknight leagues in the spring and fall, and a high-level team that travels around New England competing against other post-collegiate teams as well as area colleges. Most members of BWLA have played in college (Divisions I, II, and III are all represented), with the ages ranging from recent graduates to players who graduated from college over 10 years ago. Games can be competitive, but the primarily goal of the group is to have fun playing lacrosse.

If you are looking for ways to stay involved in lacrosse without playing there are almost always coaching opportunities in the Boston area. Metrolacrosse, a Boston-based motivational lacrosse program needs volunteers, especially in the spring, for their various programs. Please visit their website at http://www.metrolacrosse.com/ for more information. The Eastern MA Chapter of US Lacrosse has a coaching classifieds section of their webpage, which lists vacancies. Check out the Jobs section on their webpage: http://www.emasslacrosse.org/nelax/. There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved (and get paid!) by becoming an official. Please contact Mary Lou Thimas at mlthimas@aol.com for more information.

There is a hotline set up to receive info on the next couple of games and last minute info regarding cancellations due to weather. To access the hotline, call
